Sea My Memories 汪洋回忆

In Memory of My Late Father - M.P.C,
The Man Who Loves Me with His Heart and Life

You were the first who shown me the ocean.
The bounder-less blue field and the limitless sky.
Weren't as impressive as your towering body that shadowed me under the burning sun.
You smelled like the ocean, the taste of salt, water and air.
You acted like the sea, with passion and temper like the roaring wave.
You treated people like the blue field, bounder-less and amiable.

You were the first who shown me what fearless is all about at the age of 4.
I walked along the bridge connected by pieces of wood with holes and gaps that of the size of my feet.
I had confidence that I would not fall into the holes and gaps.
Because you were there for me if anything happens.
Sitting at the edge of the bridge, the depth of the water did not terrify me.
Because I knew you would be the first to catch me if I fall.

You were the first who shown me the taste of food.
Looking at the way you enjoyed your seafood.
I saw that food tasted great when it was shared, and it tasted the best when you had it with your family.
Only now that I knew, you enjoyed your seafood was because you had it with all of us.
And only now that I realized, I started to love seafood because we were all enjoying it together.

I love the ocean, not because of how bounder-less it is , it is because it reminds me of you and all of us.

I love the seafood, not because of the taste, it is because it reminds me of the time we all spent together

You were the first who shown me what love is.
I pondered whether your love of the ocean was because of her.
You waited for decades and always had good words about her
Irregardless of what you had received from her.
I always thought that you were foolish enough as a man
But only now I knew, you were just overqualified for her.
As a man like you who was forgiving enough, faithful enough and loving enough.

You were the first who shown me what courage is all about.
Though feared of dogs, you stood in front of me forming a barrier between the dogs and I.
Courage is all about, doing the things that you are feared the most.
You had always complained that I had acted recklessly.
It is just that, I had yet to master "courage" as good as you.

You were the first who shown me what faith really means.
Eventhough the whole world doubts about me.
You stood up for me and had all the faith in me.
Just like the fish never doubts that it will not be able to live without water.
Trust is believing basing on facts.
Believe is basing on feelings.
And faith is, unwavering belief without the reliance on facts.
Everyone had trusted and believed me.
But you were the only one had faith in me.

You were the first who shown me what is perseverance.
You fought for yourself, for me, for all of us for your whole life.
And you even fought for people that you did not know.
Just for justice, righteousness and to put a stop on the circulation of misfortune.
You fought till the very end, till your last breath you had never given up.
Once my lecturer explained perseverance was "dog- determination".
Only recently I finally understand what never give up means.
It means, though the world gave up on you, regardless of how people ridiculed or how they bombarded us with facts and probability,  we held on tight to you.

I thought,
We still have few decades to spend with each other, with all of us.
We still have many places to go together, many food that we can share.
We still can share all the laughter and tears together.

With your departure, lots of our dreams shattered.
But, I'll make sure your dreams are in my good hands.

11 years ago, I hold onto your hands and decided not to let go of your hands.
Thanks to you and our family, for all these years I had forgotten what loneliness was all about.
11 years later, you were forced to let go of my hands.
Now I fully understand what they meant about the pain of heart broken.
This time, I'll forgive you, because I knew you fought with your best.
And also because, you had love me with your heart and life for as long as you had lived.

Thank you very much for the life, family, love, time, devotion and knowledge that you gave.
I love you, Di.
For you, I'm precious. For me, you are irreplaceable.
As daughter, as son, I am very proud to have a father like you.
We'll see you again, decades later.

With love, pride and memory,
Fun
