Under the Mercy of Time 光阴无情

I recently read a short poem below originated from 11/2004 issue of Digital Family of Mexico. It reminds me a cruel yet realistic fact that we are all under the mercy of time.

There was once a famous millionaire told the world that he would do anything or give up all of his wealth to trade for 30 years of time.Well, it seems that the world rotates around money but time and death rotate us all.

In melancholic tone, the poem utters the inner voice of all folks and parents, which who knows that one day it may be ours. This well written poem was one of my favourite poems, the second after "If" by R.K., due to its realistic feature and it's main objective of reminding descendants or the younger generations to put more patients and love in treating their folks and other senior citizens. Most important, it also reflects the selfless love that we received from our folks.

With abundance of gratitude to all parents, Happy Parents' Day.

The Chinese Version
Cheers,
